Joliet West High School has a long tradition of excellence in music. From its beginning as the Joliet Township High School Band in 1912, the opening of West in 1964, and continuing through today, this band program in the "City of Champions" has cultivated an appreciation of music and opportunities for thousands of students. A few of the many accomplishments of our students includes:
Our efforts to accomplish our mission of empowering our students through music education while sharing their gifts with our residents is only possible with the support of our Joliet community. Purchasing of materials, providing clinicians for student instruction, helping with travel expenses, and many other needs are crucial to the success of our students. With the help of sponsors, we will be able to not only continue the great tradition at Joliet West but reach further to provide opportunities to all our student musicians.
- Invited Band at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival
- Numerous performances at the Illinois Superstate Festival
- Jazz ensemble performance at the legendary Jazz Showcase in Chicago
